Alexander Isak could depart Newcastle this summer amid interest from Liverpool(Image: Getty Images)
Liverpool reportedly want encouragement from Newcastle United before moving for Alexander Isak.
The Sweden international is said to be exploring an exit during this summer transfer window, but Newcastle insist their striker is not for sale.
Isak is away from the team currently, though, after being left out of their pre-season tour squad, citing a minor thigh injury.
He has yet to play for the Magpies this summer after being sent home before their first friendly against Celtic, which they went on to lose 4-0, because of speculation surrounding his future.
Images apparently showing Isak training alone at Newcastle's training ground have since emerged.
However, that seemingly is not the precursor for any imminent move from the Reds this month.
The Times claims one will only come should they get encouragement from Newcastle.
However, that stance does not deter them, and they continue to monitor developments.
The Reds will have listened to the latest comments from Newcastle head coach Eddie Howe with interest.
