Liverpool's Florian Wirtz has sent Jamal Musiala his best wishes after the Bayern Munich forward sustained a serious injury at the Club World Cup.
Musiala's leg buckled under a challenge from Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, and he is expected to be out for at least four months with a fractured fibula.
The gruesome nature of the injury left stars from both sides visibly shocked, with a number of players left with their heads in their hands as the stricken Musiala received treatment.
Record Reds signing Wirtz and Musiala are teammates with the Germany national team, and the 22-year-old issued a supportive message on Instagram, writing: “Stay strong my bro you’ll come back stronger!!” along with two heart emojis.

Donnarumma came in for criticism for his role in Wirtz's injury, with Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer sending a message to the Italy international.
“[This is] a situation where you don’t have to go in like that; that’s reckless,” Neuer said.

Meanwhile, Bayern boss Vincent Kompany said: “It was very emotional because we didn’t like what we saw at all.
