Liverpool will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they take on Atalanta in a must-win Europa League clash tonight.

Jurgen Klopp's side suffered a 3-0 defeat in the first leg at Anfield last week and will need to produce another magic European night to book their place in the semi-finals. Liverpool's Premier League title hopes also took a major hit on Sunday when they lost 1-0 to Crystal Palace.

The result leaves them two points behind league leaders Manchester City and they will be hoping Pep Guardiola's side slip up in their remaining games. With all that in mind, Mirror Football takes a look at some of the latest Liverpool news.

Gasperini "happy" with Anfield links

Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini is the latest manager linked with a potential move to Liverpool once Klopp steps down at the end of the season.

And while Gasperini admits he is "happy" to be linked with the Reds, he did insist he remains fully focused on knocking them out of the Europa League. "Of course I am happy with links to Liverpool job to replace Klopp but my focus is on the game," he said.

"We can't be distracted by this kind of links or stories, we have to focus on the upcoming games."

Amorim hailed

Sporting manager Ruben Amorim has also been linked with the Liverpool job and former Premier League star Nemanja Matic, who played under Amorim at Benfica, believes he would be a "great replacement" for Klopp.

"Ruben Amorim is an excellent person," Matic told O Jogo . "He was one of those who helped me the most when I arrived at Benfica because he speaks English very well. I hope he hasn't forgotten how to speak it now! (laughs).

"I see Ruben Amorim at a big club, I don't know if it will be Liverpool, but if it happens I'm sure he'll be a great replacement for Klopp because Ruben understands football and has the personality and character to be a great coach - he already currently is."

Reds urged to sign Osimhen

Mohamed Salah has been linked with a move away from Anfield next summer and former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol believes Victor Osimhen would be a "fantastic" replacement.

Salah was the subject of strong interest from the Saudi Pro League last summer and they are expected to return again this year. And Nicol feels Liverpool should sign a prolific striker like Osimhen to replace him instead of another winger, telling ESPN FC : "The fact that Salah is going to be going, whether this year or next year, Osimhen?

"I think he would be fantastic for Liverpool,. The middle of the park, we've just signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, Endo's turned out to be incredible, you need someone who will run all day and give it to Mac Allister, Szoboszlai and Salah."
