Achterberg has worked for Liverpool since 2009 and it is understood he has been approached by Al-Ettifaq, the Saudi club currently managed by Gerrard.

Liverpool's goalkeeping coach John Achterberg is set to link up with Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq.

The 17-year-old joined Liverpool as an U14s prospect and also represents America, having most recently featured at the U17 World Cup where his side were knocked out by Germany in the last 16.
