Liverpool have reportedly made Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi their top priority.

Jarell Quansah is on the verge of completing his move to Bayer Leverkusen, which will see Arne Slot lose a defensive option for their Premier League defence.

The England international is entering the last 12 months of his contract at Selhurst Park, and this summer poses as a final opportunity for Oliver Glasner's side to recoup a significant fee or face losing him at a reduced rate in January or for free at the end of his contract next summer.



The ECHO reported this week that with Crystal Palace close to landing the signature of Ousmane Diomande from Sporting CP, Liverpool are content to wait for Guehi.

Quansah underwent his medical for a move to the Bundesliga on Monday, days after he helped guide Lee Carsley's England under-21s to European Championships success in Slovakia.

Should the Uruguayan leave the club, a striker could be an avenue to explore, but according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, there is a different priority in the transfer window.
