It’s a well-known fact that Liverpool have been vying for the transfer of Alexander Isak since the summer transfer window first opened.
The towering Swede has been the Reds’ dream target for a while now, and although talks may have halted, that doesn’t mean they can’t be reignited at a later date.

And, although Liverpool are now getting into the advanced stages of their deal for Hugo Ekitike, a fresh update has been shared on Liverpool getting their dream number nine.
Seeing as though Isak has three years left on his current deal with Newcastle, the Magpies find themselves in a rather strong negotiating position.
Mokbel outlines that if the Reds do end up bringing Ekitike in this summer, they may decide that they ‘do not require’ a new number nine, especially if one or two of their attackers also stay-put.

However, if Arne Slot does decide that he wants another striker, Mokbel doesn’t think the towering Swede will be ‘too far away’ from their thoughts.

Although Slot’s preferred system is a 4-3-3, if Isak does come available for a decent fee next summer, it’d be silly for him not to at least try and explore a deal.
