Mohamed Salah has lost his crown in the battle to be the fastest player in the Premier League.



However, there is no doubting the frightening pace in which the Reds can hit teams on the counter.

10 role, Liverpool have the pace and energy to turn defence into attack in the blink of an eye – but it is actually right-back Frimpong who is the quickest in the team, and the Premier League entirely.

According to FotMob, he clocked a top speed of 36.1km/h against Bournemouth, with Tottenham centre-back Micky van de Ven in second place with 35.6km/h.

Newcastle forward Anthony Gordon clocked the third highest speed in the league during his side’s 0-0 draw with Aston Villa, reaching 35.5km/h.

Salah has previously been regarded as the quickest player in the Premier League, but the Egyptian may now, quite literally, have a run for his money to regain that title.

Chelsea’s Pedro Neto (35.1km/h), Brentford’s Kevin Schade (35.0km/h) and Leeds’ Daniel James (34.9km/h) are up next in the rankings, followed by Spurs’ Djed Spence (34.8km/h) and Manchester United’s Matheus Cunha (34.5km/h).

With the Premier League continuing to become a more high pace, attacking competition, it remains to be seen if further speedy stars are signed by clubs at both ends of the table before the transfer window closes.
