They could have made another statement signing on deadline day but rejected the chance to do a third deal, according to the Daily Mail.

It is said that Liverpool had the opportunity to land Leao, but club chiefs told AC Milan they did not want to proceed.

The report adds the Italian giants also tried to sign Federico Chiesa but that proposal was similarly rejected.

Kaide Gordon, however, could be allowed to leave Liverpool on loan.

For now, they will be hoping to finalise their moves for Isak and Guehi to cap off a productive summer window.
