Liverpool are making quiet but smart moves this summer.
While all eyes are on big names like Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez, the club is working behind the scenes to strengthen its future.
The focus isn’t just on the first team.
There’s also a clear plan to revive the academy after a disappointing youth season.
One name has been around the AXA Training Centre recently.
A young player, only 20, has been training, meeting the staff, and observing the setup.
He already knows what Anfield means.
Years ago, when his country’s youth team played qualifiers in the north of England, he visited the stadium.
He stood in the stands.
And now, he’s back — this time, as a Red.
Liverpool have officialy confirmed the signing of Hungarian goalkeeper Armin Pecsi from Puskas Akademia.
The Reds have paid £1.5 million for the highly-rated 20-year-old, who now becomes the club’s second summer signing after Jeremie Frimpong.
Pecsi signed his contract at the AXA Training Centre, completed a medical, and will link up with the U21s.
He will also train occasionally with Alisson and incoming back-up Mamardashvili, which will be key for his development.
Pecsi had an excellent season in the Hungarian top flight, playing 30 times and helping his side finish second in the league.
His performances earned him a Golden Boy nomination, where he ranked second among all goalkeepers, a clear sign of his talent.
He has also won five caps for Hungary’s U21s.
This move could also lead to a potential exit for Vitezslav Jaros, with Pecsi expected to be a long-term option in goal.
Some transfers are about filling gaps.
Others are about shaping the future.
This one clearly falls in the second category.
