As the new Barclays Women’s Super League season approaches, Liverpool FC Women are getting their house in order.
Preparation matters.
It’s not just about training and tactics—it’s also about the small things that signal a fresh start.
New signings.
What number?
For returning players, the choices are familiar.
For the new faces, there’s always a bit of curiosity.
Who takes what shirt?
Or something personal?
For Liverpool, who finished a respectable fourth last season and are aiming to close the gap on the top three, these squad choices give us a small glimpse into what’s ahead.
The WSL is more competitive than ever, and the Reds are not standing still.
They’re adding depth, international experience, and keeping key pieces from last year’s progress.
Now, Liverpool FC Women have officially confirmed the squad numbers for the four players who’ve joined the team this summer.
Sam Kerr, who impressed during her loan spell from Bayern Munich, is back on a permanent deal.
She’s kept the same number from last season.
“Sam Kerr has kept the No.24 shirt she wore during her loan spell last season, having joined on a permanent basis in July from Bayern Munich.”
It’s a sign of continuity, and belief in her role in the team.
Another Scottish international, Kirsty Maclean, has come in and taken No.19.
Rafaela Borggrafe, a new goalkeeper signing, will wear No.12.
And Lily Woodham, who arrived earlier this week from Seattle Reign, will wear No.16.
With these numbers locked in, Liverpool fans can start getting familiar with the newest members of Matt Beard’s squad.
Shirts will be available from 9am BST, both online, in-app, and in-store
