Liverpool Football Club have confirmed their complete pre-season itinerary ahead of the 2025/26 season, featuring a mix of domestic friendlies, an ambitious Asian tour, and a unique double-header finale at Anfield.
The Reds will commence their summer preparations on July 8, 2025, when players report back to the AXA Training Centre.
Their tight schedule begins just five days later with a trip to Deepdale to face Championship side Preston North End on Sunday, July 13, with a 3pm BST kickoff.
It represents a repeat of Slot’s very first match as Liverpool head coach, when the two sides met in a behind-closed-doors friendly last summer that resulted in a 1-0 defeat for a heavily rotated Liverpool side.
Following two weeks of preparation at their Kirkby training base, Liverpool will embark on their return to Asia, departing on July 21.
The club last visited the region in 2023 with matches in Singapore, and this tour represents their first summer visit to Japan.
The Asian leg opens with a high-profile encounter against AC Milan at Hong Kong’s newly opened Kai Tak Stadium on Saturday, July 26.
This match will be the inaugural football fixture at the state-of-the-art venue and will see the teams compete for the Standard Chartered Trophy, marking 20 years since Liverpool’s memorable Champions League final victory over Milan in Istanbul.
Four days later, Liverpool will make history with their first-ever summer match in Japan, facing J1 League side Yokohama F.
Marinos at Nissan Stadium on July 30.
The Japan leg reflects the club’s strengthened ties with the country, bolstered by their partnership with Japan Airlines as official airline partner and the presence of Japan national team captain Wataru Endo in their squad.
And now the club has announced its final fixtures of pre-season before the 2025/26 gets underway.
Arne Slot’s men will face in a double-header against La Liga side Athletic Bilbao at Anfield on Monday, August 4.
