Liverpool supporters have every reason for optimism as the club navigates an exciting period of transformation following their Premier League title triumph.

The Reds have already secured the  high-profile acquisition of Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and continue pursuing marquee targets like Florian Wirtz, signaling ambitious plans for sustained success under Arne Slot.

However, alongside these headline arrivals, Liverpool has confirmed the departure of several academy prospects as part of their annual retained list.

Liverpool has confirmed the release of seven academy players.

The departures include Dominic Corness, Louis Enahoro-Marcus, Harry Evers, Lee Jonas, Jakub Ojrzynski, Jacob Poytress, and Reece Trueman, all of whom will leave upon the expiration of their contracts.

Among the most notable departures is Jakub Ojrzynski, the Polish goalkeeper who had been part of Liverpool’s system since 2019.

The 20-year-old had recently spent time on loan with various clubs including a stint at Spartakos Kitiou and most recently Utsiktens BK, as he sought first-team experience

Louis Enahoro-Marcus represents another significant departure, with the commanding centre-half having arrived at Liverpool’s academy as a 10-year-old after being spotted playing grassroots football in Manchester.

Born in Benin City, Nigeria, the 18-year-old defender had progressed through the youth ranks and featured prominently for the U18s during his scholarship years.

While several players have been released, Liverpool has shown its faith in eight academy prospects by offering them new contracts.

Kareem Ahmed, Emmanuel Airoboma, Keyrol Figueroa, Kyle Kelly, Michael Laffey, Wellity Lucky, Terence Miles, and Ranel Young have all received offers as the club seeks to retain its most promising young talent.

18-year-old Keyrol Figueroa is one of the most exciting prospects among those offered new term, with the versatile forward capable of playing across the front line.

Meanwhile, Wellity Lucky has interest from around Europe and trained with Arne Slot’s first team ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League fixture against PSV Eindhoven earlier this year.
