Liverpool have been a very active club in this summer’s transfer window.
Entering the summer with a clear vision to give Arne Slot the funds required to shape a squad tailor made to him.
It is safe to say, they are doing just that.
Over £300m spent, with some world-class players joining the ranks, as well as some departures that the Dutchman deemed surplus to requirements at the club.
Arne Slot has also been ruthless, as shown in his Feyernoord days, as he was never not prepared to shake things up and let players go if he didn’t feel they were good enough.
Next season holds more importance, as the Reds embark on it as Premier League champions, with a particular goal of retaining the title.
To achieve such a feat, further additions are planned on top of an already busy summer, with many targets still very much appreciated at Anfield.
One of those players is currently playing his trade at Brighton, as interest in Carlos Baleba intensifies from the Reds.
According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are reportedly one of seven clubs keeping a keen eye on Baleba.
Sources close to the situation have declared that the midfielder is being closely monitored by Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.
The performances from the 21-year-old has led the midfielder to being in high demand, as clubs consider a move for him.
To tempt Brighton into any kind of sale, the interested club would have to meet their asking price of 60-70 million euros for the player.
Manchester United are reportedly one step ahead, after the club made contact with the player’s representatives, but no official offer has been made yet.
That leaves the race for the midfielder still very much open, and Liverpool view the player as a suitable fit for their system as they look to strengthen their depth in that area of the pitch.
Wataru Endo is approaching the twilight years of his career, and Baleba is believed to be a superb potential addition, should the Reds look to pursue a deal.
The 21-year-old still has time on his side, and after already proving he has what it takes to impress in the Premier League, it is only a matter of time before he moves to a top club in the division.
