Liverpool have approached Newcastle United over a remarkable deal to sign Alexander Isak.
The Reds have yet to make an offer for the Sweden international, but are said to be willing to do a deal in the region of £120m, having already signed Florian Wirtz for up to £116m this summer.
Newcastle maintain that Isak is not for sale, but Liverpool have expressed their intention to try and change their minds.
As reported by The Athletic, Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike also remains on Liverpool's radar, but Newcastle also hold an interest in the Frenchman.
Sky Sports reported on Tuesday that the Magpies have had a £70m bid rejected for Ekitike.
Liverpool have yet to enter into talks with Frankfurt over Ekitike, and it would be highly unlikely that they would sign both the 23-year-old and Isak.
.
Isak has scored 62 goals in 109 Newcastle appearances, and found the net when the Magpies beat Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley in March.
Liverpool's have had a long-term interest in him ever since he broke through at Swedish club AIK, before further spells at Borussia Dortmund and Real Sociedad, from whom he joined Newcastle for a club record £63m in August 2022, before scoring on his Magpies debut against Liverpool at Anfield.
