With two years left on his contract (until 2027) and no clear signal from the club, this summer could bring serious movement if a strong offer arrives.

According to Loic Tanzi, Liverpool have now opened talks with the representatives of Malick Fofana, the 20-year-old Belgian winger currently at Lyon.

Fofana was a standout performer in 2024–25, scoring 11 goals and providing 3 assists across 41 appearances in all competitions.

Liverpool aren’t the only club tracking him either.

Fofana is under contract until 2028, with a current market value of around €30 million, and rising interest from top clubs could spark a bidding race.

While no bid has been submitted yet, Liverpool’s early move to open talks signals genuine intent.

Whether it ends in a transfer or not, the message is clear: the club is thinking ahead and preparing for life beyond Diaz.
