Liverpool outcast Michael Owen has a huge net worth after earning a fortune during his playing days and building his wealth in the years since he retired.
The former striker, who hung up his boots in 2013, is said to have a net worth of around £54.4million, which puts him ahead of Robbie Fowler, who was once dubbed the ‘richest sportsman living in Britain' by a national newspaper.
Owen made his Liverpool debut in May 1997 as he came off the bench to bag a consolation goal during a 2-1 defeat to Wimbledon as a 17-year-old.
Incredibly, he revealed last autumn that he avoids returning to Anfield as he doesn’t feel “welcomed or loved” at the club.

Owen was handed a contract worth around £70,000 per week during the second half of his Liverpool career as he became one of the highest paid players in the Premier League.
He was apparently only paid twice a year during his one season in Spain, with former Aston Villa star Andy Townsend revealing that fact to talkSPORT a couple of years ago.
Owen, 45, was then handed roughly £110,000 a week during his four-year spell with Newcastle and went on to earn a basic wage of around £30,000 per week at Manchester United before appearance bonuses were accounted for.
His final football contact came with Stoke, where he was on a pay-as-you-play deal.
During his playing days, Owen signed sponsorship deals with the likes of Umbro, Tissot, and Jaguar as the cash kept rolling in.
The facility was established in 2007 and now boasts 145 thoroughbreds.
In the early 2000s, Owen even bought a whole street of houses in Ewloe, north Wales, so members of his family could live there.
And the ex-Premier League player also co-founded Michael Owen Management Company, which represents emerging football talents.
He also tops up his income by appearing as a pundit on TNT Sports.
Owen’s net worth has surpassed the net worth of Fowler, with the duo spending four years as team-mates at Anfield.
Fowler, who is said to be worth £31m, built up a huge property portfolio during his playing days.
And a few years ago he launched his own academy to teach aspiring property investors through workshops and courses.
