Liverpool player ratings vs Yokohama (4-3-3)
Giorgi Mamardashvili: 6
Wasn't overly busy but got down well to stop a Dean David header.
Conor Bradley: 5 (Frimpong, 64)
Lost his man at the back post and was lucky it did not result in Yokohama being headed in front.
Ibrahima Konate: 5 (Tsimikas, 64)
His individual error sparked a Yokohama counter-attack and he was bailed out by Virgil van Dijk.
Was also sucked out of position for the goal which put the Japanese side ahead.
Virgil van Dijk: 7 (Endo, 59)
Solid defensive display.
Milos Kerkez: 5 (Robertson, 64)
Was fortunate that an intercepted pass in his own half did not result in Yokohama taking the lead.
Dominik Szoboszlai: 8 (Elliott, 64)
Looked really sharp, especially in the game's early stages.
Produced a nice flick to Bradley round the corner and went close with a cheeky back-heel attempt at goal.
Cody Gakpo: 6
Hit the post with a low curler early on and did look dangerous, but with the amount of chances he missed you have to conclude he was too wasteful.

Curtis Jones: 6
Ball was played in behind him when Yokohama took the lead but made up for it when he intercepted a pass, led the attack and got the clever assist for Wirtz's goal.
Darwin Nunez: 5
Dreadful miss after latching onto Salah's ball over the top.
Wataru Endo: 6
Big reception from the Japanese fans and a nice gesture as he was handed the captain's armband by Van Dijk.
Rio Ngumoha: 9
Picked the ball up just inside the Yokohama half, darted towards the box and found the net with a low effort.
Easy to see why Liverpool fans are so excited about him.
And he's still only 16.
Trey Nyoni: 7
Another promising Liverpool youngster, the 18-year-old fired Liverpool in front by latching onto Jeremie Frimpong's cross.
Kostas Tsimikas: 6
Quiet cameo in a strangely short back-line.
Jeremie Frimpong: 7
Played a great ball in for Nyoni to tap home.
Andy Robertson: 6
Helped Liverpool see out the win after replacing Kerkez.
Harvey Elliott: 6
Back in action off the bench after starting against AC Milan last time out.
