New signing Alexander Isak could make his debut for the club this weekend.
The Swedish striker featured for around 20 minutes earlier in the week for his national team in their 2-0 defeat to Kosovo.
He registered three attempts on goal – two on target – but was also booked following a clash with Kosovo defender Fidan Aliti.
“It’s great that everything was settled before the camp and that I could focus on playing football again,” he said after the game.
“It’s been a fairly new situation for me, but you always learn and develop mentally off the pitch as well.”
Isak was spotted at the AXA Training Centre on Wednesday, where he linked up with his new teammates, including Federico Chiesa, Joe Gomez and Stefan Bajcetic.
The rest of Liverpool’s international contingent are due back in stages over the next couple of days.
Jeremie Frimpong returned to Liverpool training on Wednesday after recovering from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the last two matches.
Frimpong had been forced off after 60 minutes in the season opener against Bournemouth, with scans confirming a hamstring problem.
The Dutch defender missed the victories over Newcastle and Arsenal, remaining on Merseyside during the break to focus on his rehabilitation.
His return this week saw him join several senior players in training, alongside Isak, who took part in his first session following his deadline-day arrival.
Frimpong’s comeback means Liverpool are currently injury-free, a welcome boost for Arne Slot and his staff.
