Trent Alexander-Arnold has been supported by current and former Liverpool team-mates after sending an emotional message following the Reds’ title celebrations.

The full-back made what was his final appearance for the club in last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.

On the same day, he lifted the Premier League trophy with his boyhood club for the second time.

He confirmed earlier this month that he will leave the club in the summer upon the expiry of his contract and is expected to make a move to Real Madrid.

Celebrations continued on Bank Holiday Monday when the team took part in an open top bus parade through the city with the Premier League trophy.

He has now taken to social media to send a message to those who turned out for the celebrations.

Sharing pictures of himself on the bus with the Premier League trophy and his medal, Alexander-Arnold wrote: “Perfect send off.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I love my city.” He added a red heart emoji.

Teammates, current and old have been quick to send their response to the message.

Cody Gakpo simply wrote in the comments section: “Legend.”

Gakpo also ‘liked’ the message.

But he wasn’t the only member of the Liverpool squad to do so.

Diogo Jota, Ibraham Konate, Curtis Jones, Kaide Gordon, Andy Robertson, Alexis Mac Allister, Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo, Luis Diaz, Lewis Koumas, Rhys Williams, Ben Doak and Virgil van Dijk all ‘liked’ the post within the first couple of hours of it being posted.

Former Liverpool teammates James Milner, Daniel Sturridge, Stefan Bajcetic and Jordan Henderson are among the ‘likes’ as is Alexander-Arnold’s England teammate and Real star Jude Bellingham.

“I’ll remember these moments for the rest of my life, especially a day like today," Alexander-Arnold said after lifting the trophy on Sunday.

"A very, very special day and a very special achievement for the team and for the club.”
