Liverpool are reportedly preparing a ‘big-money bid’ for Newcastle star Alexander Isak.

Liverpool’s move for Wirtz is expected to break the current British transfer record (Chelsea’s £115m signing of Moises Caicedo, but the Anfield outfit are prepared to break the record for the second time ‘in succession’.

They are ‘determined’ to sign Isak and are set to submit an opening bid worth £100m plus add-ons.

However, it is unclear whether that will test the resolve of Newcastle given that they are demanding a fee upwards of £150m.
