We have now passed through several chapters in the story of Florian Wirtz to Liverpool.
A situation that both clubs did not reportedly want to let drag on, but patience is key.
Time is needed when attempting to finalise a deal that will make a player the Premier League’s most expensive signing in history.
At the beginning of last week, Bayer Leverkusen rejected Liverpool’s second offer for their star midfielder which consisted of around 130 million euros.
Bayer Leverkusen have stood firm on their original asking price for Florian Wirtz, as they look to get closer to 150 million.
However, the question has not been will Wirtz will move to Liverpool or not, but instead it has been a matter of when as both clubs work hard to agree a deal.
BILD have now revealed that Liverpool are set to submit their final offer for Florian Wirtz.
A lot will be riding on this offer, and the Reds will be hoping that this will be enough to get their star man.
The report states that Liverpool will offer around 140 million euros in the package of a fixed transfer and realistic surcharges, with possible further bones payments to be added.
It is also important to note that a medical has not yet been scheduled for Florian Wirtz, despite reports stating the contrary over the last few days, but the deal is expected to be completed in the coming days.
Florian Wirtz is set to feature again for Germany in the Nations League third placed play off against France today.
German manager Julian Nagelsmann revealed that he had no requests from clubs to rest players.
Bayer Leverkusen did not ask Germany to rest Wirtz in order to protect him, as they do not believe the transfer would be put into jeopardy by a potential injury to the 22-year-old.
It remains to be seen whether Bayer Leverkusen will accept this final offer from Liverpool, but if this one is rejected too, it may be a case of Liverpool turning their attention elsewhere, even if that mean missing out on a superstar.
But as it stands, talks appear to be on the home straight as the deal of the summer appears to be reaching its conclusion.
