Liverpool's players are relishing their final week off before they reconvene for pre-season training at the AXA Training Centre.
Last summer marked a new era at Liverpool, bringing about a change in direction for pre-season training.
The dreaded lactate test under former boss Jurgen Klopp was replaced last season with the equally gruelling Six-Minute Race Test (6MRT).
As the name suggests, this endurance test lasts for six minutes around a 400m race track, with participants encouraged to run as fast as possible to cover a distance between 1.5 and 2km.
Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley, and Sepp van den Berg were all involved in last year's run, under the watchful eyes of fitness coach Dr Conall Murtagh and head of performance Ruben Peeters, with Slot also in attendance.
Curtis Jones and Kostas Tsimikas joined the fray later for their bespoke training sessions, yet it was Mohamed Salah who emerged as the standout performer later that week, showcasing his remarkable stamina and laying the groundwork for what would become a memorable season.
"It's important to show your mentality," was the advice imparted to Salah and Wataru Endo by Dr Murtagh last year!

The goalkeeper division at Liverpool, now managed by Fabian Otte, has also experienced a transformation this summer with new signings Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi, and Freddie Woodman, embracing a novel approach introduced at the AXA Training Centre last year which looks set to stick around.
