Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike on a six-year contract at Anfield.
Both Arne Slot's side and Newcastle have been competing for the Frenchman's signature, with the Reds pushing for Ekitike after being informed that Alexander Isak is not for sale.
The Magpies made an attempt to sign £77million-rated Ekitike in the hope of pairing him with Isak in a formidable striker partnership, but they were yet to agree terms on a fee with the Bundesliga outfit.
Their plans to sign the 23-year-old were thwarted, however, after Liverpool entered the race as they search for a new forward.
