Liverpool’s summer transfer window has already delivered a flurry of headlines, but now all eyes on Merseyside have turned to arguably the blockbuster move of the transfer season.
The Reds’ persistent interest in Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak has been there all summer.
And a potential breakthrough has now emerged on the brewing saga.
Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany has reported that Liverpool have already agreed personal terms to sign Alexander Isak.
Taking to X, the German reporter claimed:
“Understand: Alexander Isak has already reached a verbal agreement in principle with Liverpool over a contract running until 2031.”
“Isak wants to make the move to LFC as early as this transfer window.”
“The clubs are in contact?
His salary at Liverpool would be similar to that of Hugo Ekitike’s.”
He adds that the Magpies are still working to secure a replacement in Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig:
“Newcastle are still pushing hard to sign Benjamin Sesko – but Manchester United are also in the race.”
