Liverpool did not really do much business in the last summer except the acquisition of Italian winger Federico Chiesa and Georgian shotstopper Giorgi Mamardashvili, but that looks to be changing this summer.

They’ve done well, but it’s clear more depth is needed.

Liverpool have been linked with a player in Italy for some time and now emerging reports suggest that there might be a chance to get his signature.

Who is the Brazil star Liverpool want?

According to TuttoAtalanta, Liverpool and a host of other clubs are ‘ready to knock’ on Atalanta’s door with ‘offers that could reach 60 million euros’ for talented midfielder Ederson.

The Brazilian has become one of Serie A’s standout performers since joining the Italian club in 2022.

He’s played 131 games, scoring 12 goals and adding 4 assists.

But his game is more than numbers.

He was a key part of Atalanta’s Europa League triumph in 2024 and has shown he can dominate midfield battles at the top level.

Atalanta are aware of the growing interest.

Their manager Gian Piero Gasperini has already called Ederson a “world-class talent” and the club is “ready to sell” him if the price is right.

Liverpool know this isn’t just about numbers.

They’ve had success with Brazilian midfielders before.

Fabinho was vital to the club’s Premier League and Champions League wins under now Red Bull Head of Global Soccer Jurgen Klopp.

Ederson could be the next in line.

The player himself is interested in the Premier League but, for now, “he is not sure about the club he wants to play for.”

Liverpool will hope to change that.

With a bid ready, the Reds are set to knock.
