Federico Chiesa celebrates (Photo by Sebastian Frej/Getty Images)
Federico Chiesa has found few opportunities to impress at Liverpool under Arne Slot, and has admitted that a return to his old club Juventus would be "something to think about" - but some fans in the Liverpool Echo comments section want to see him stay and fight for his place.
The Italian forward arrived for an initial £10 million fee last summer, but has only clocked up a little over five full matches in total playing time.
His lack of minutes have kept him out of the national team, and he will want to get back into the good graces of Italy manager Luciano Spalletti before the World Cup next summer.
Rumours of Chiesa wanting to return to familiar territory in Serie A have been doing the rounds all year, but it's not a sure thing.
On a return to Juventus, Chiesa said: “Never say never.
Everyone thought he might struggle, but he proved to be a great coach within modern football ideas, and we deservedly won the Premier League.”
There are question marks hanging over the heads of other Liverpool forwards Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, so there could be a chance to step up for Chiesa if they are sold and not replaced.
Some fans reckon he should be given more of a chance to prove his talents in England.
Been treated appallingly in my honest opinion."
On our Facebook page, Sean Cooney says: "Absolutely don't believe Chiesa will leave Liverpool.
