Liverpool are reportedly exploring the possibility of signing two goalkeepers as Adrian is expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

With Alisson Becker and Caoimhin Kelleher, the Reds boast one of the Premier League’s top goalkeeping setups.

Adrian, who is currently the third choice was initially anticipated to depart the club last summer but ended up signing a new one-year contract.

While he has contributed as a mentor from the bench this season, the former West Ham United No.1 shot-stopper is yet to make an appearance for Jurgen Klopp’side.

During the 2022-23 season, the 37-year-old served as backup for Alisson and Kelleher, making a solitary appearance in Liverpool’s FA Community Shield triumph over Manchester City.

Since his arrival from West Ham on a free transfer in the summer of 2019, the Spaniard has featured 26 times for the Reds in all competitions.

According to the Daily Mail, “Liverpool have retained an interest in Sunderland shot-stopper Anthony Patterson”

“It is also understood that several Premier League clubs have been scouting Wigan’s young keeper Sam Tickle, who has impressed for Shaun Maloney’s League One side this season and earned himself an England Under 21 call-up.”

Kelleher has been impressive in the absence of Alisson this season, delivering outstanding saves for the Reds as they persist in their pursuit of both the Premier League and Europa League titles.

The Irish goalkeeper has made 26 appearances across all competitions, including featuring in Liverpool’s Carabao Cup triumph over Chelsea in the final.

Alisson made his return to Liverpool’s starting XI on Sunday, ending an absence of eight Premier League matches due to a hamstring injury that posed a threat to his season.

Interest in Kelleher has been increasing following his impressive campaign so far.

The Daily Mail further stated that “the Irishman was subject to strong interest from Nottingham Forest in the last days of the January transfer window but Liverpool turned down the relegation-threatened club’s approaches.

“Liverpool would likely not stand in Kelleher’s way if he did want to leave the club in search of a No 1 jersey elsewhere, though, with Forest just one of many clubs interested in securing his services.

“Celtic are very keen but would almost certainly be priced out of a move.”
