Liverpool might risk losing the Darwin Nunez deal to Napoli, as the club reportedly stands firm on their valuation, which could jeopardise the move.

The Uruguayan forward featured in the second half against Preston on Sunday during a pre-season friendly.

He also scored a goal and dedicated it to Liverpool’s forever No.20, Diogo Jota, with his celebration.

Although Nunez is closing in on the Anfield exit door, reports suggest many clubs have shown interest in him this summer.

Serie A champions Napoli are currently the top contenders to sign him.

Antonio Conte reportedly wants Nunez to join the squad as part of his summer rebuild.

The Italian side has already pulled off a big-name signing, with Kevin De Bruyne joining the club this summer.

Nunez might also prefer Napoli, as Conte typically favours physically strong strikers, and he could fit into that role at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Napoli are expected to hold a new meeting this Monday to discuss Nunez’s potential move.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Liverpool needs to lower their £52m valuation for the Uruguayan, or the deal could collapse.

Previous reports suggest that both clubs had earlier identified a huge valuation gap.

Napoli had already stepped away from talks once because of that, as reported by multiple sources.

This time, the Premier League champions might consider adjusting the price, as the club reportedly wants to sell Darwin this summer.
