Liverpool have reportedly stepped up their efforts to sign Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov.

The summer transfer window does not open for several more months, and there is still plenty of football to be played. The Reds are battling to win the Premier League title and have a Europa League quarter-final against Atalanta to look forward to next month.

Jurgen Klopp is also in the final months of his tenure as Liverpool manager, meaning a new era will begin at Anfield in the summer. That will see a new manager appointed, who will likely want to see new players added to the squad.

The latest report has seen Liverpool linked with a move for Sudakov at Shakhtar Donetsk. According to journalist Artur Petrosyan, the Reds have regularly been sending scouts to watch Sudakov in action over the last 12 months.

It has been claimed that Liverpool have been "pleased" by what they have seen from Sudakov. As a result, the Reds are said to be showing a "keen" interest in signing the midfielder in the summer transfer window.

However, the report adds that Liverpool are not alone in considering a move for Sudakov, who also has 14 caps to his name for Ukraine. Arsenal and Juventus are also said to be showing an interest in signing the 21-year-old in the summer.

Sudakov has progressed through the youth ranks at Shakhtar to become one of the club's key players. The midfielder, who is also capable of performing on the left wing, has scored five goals with two assists in all competitions this term, including one in the Champions League.

Liverpool already made significant changes to their midfield options last summer. Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai were all signed as several stars left the club including Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
