The latest report from Spain has revealed that Liverpool are looking for revenge against Real Madrid in their attempt to sign one star player.

After completing the signing of five players already this summer, the Reds are still active in the market.

They intend to sign at least two players before the window closes.

At the moment, a striker and a centre back are considered priority positions for Arne Slot’s side.

For the striker position, the club have identified Hugo Ekitike, with Liverpool and Eintracht  Frankfurt close to reaching an agreement for the Frenchman.

As it stands, there is uncertainty over the future of Luis Diaz, so Liverpool will likely enter the market for a winger before the summer window shuts.

One player being considered as a potential replacement for the Colombian is Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.

The Brazilian is seeking a move away from the Bernabeu after growing frustrated with his reduced role at the club.

Liverpool have been named as a possible destination for him, with a recent report claiming that the Reds are willing to do all it takes to sign the Brazilian.

Liverpool do not just want to sign the 24-year-old because of his quality; they also believe his capture will help them settle some scores with Real Madrid.

This is according to a recent report from Spanish outlet AS, which claims that Liverpool is ‘seeking revenge against Real Madrid’ in their pursuit of Rodrygo.

Recounting all the players Real Madrid have beaten Liverpool to, the article revealed that getting Rodrygo will help them win one duel over the Spanish giants.

“Liverpool are in the running to sign Rodrygo,” the report said.

“They lost the battle with Tchouameni, Bellingham, Trent, or Mbappé.
