Liverpool continue to impress when it comes to their transfer business so far this window.
The Reds are undergoing a summer of significant change as Arne Slot molds a squad that he believes will take him to new heights next season after a historic debut campaign in charge.
The £300m barrier has been broken after signing Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike, but the club are reportedly not done yet as they chase the signing of Alexander Isak.
A player that if he moves to Anfield, could become the signing of the summer via a record transfer fee.
It isn’t just the incomings that have been impressive so far for Liverpool.
The money gained from negotiating transfer fees for departures has also put the Reds in a great position.
Some notable outgoings include Jarell Quansah’s departure to Bayer Leverkusen in a £35m deal, Caoimhin Kelleher heading to Brentford for £18m and Luis Diaz is now off to Munich for £65.5m.
Now, there is another player on his way out of Liverpool as he no longer sees himself a part of Arne Slot’s plans.
According to Ian Doyle, Liverpool have agreed a £15m deal to sell midfielder Tyler Morton to Lyon.
The transfer is at its final stages with him now expected to make the move, with the overall package inclusive of attainable add-ons and containing a 20% sell-on clause.
The 22-year-old held interest from a number of clubs, including Ipswich Town, but he has opted for a move to France instead.
No other club were able to match what Lyon were offering, despite their recent financial struggles.
The Ligue 1 side were relegated from the division in June due to their poor financial state despite finishing sixth in the league and qualifying for the Europa League, but they were reinstated after an appeal the following month.
Tyler Morton has enjoyed successful season-long loan spells at Blackburn Rovers and Hull City in recent years but has failed to make an impact at Liverpool.
The England U21 Euros winner managed just five appearances in 2024/25, with 0 coming in the Premier League as Liverpool cruised to a 20th league title.
Morton’s exit will take Liverpool’s potential transfer income for this summer up to £145m as he follows Trent Alexander-Arnold, Nathaniel Phillips, Jarell Quansah, Caoimhin Kelleher and Luis Diaz out the exit door.
