Liverpool are on the verge of selling academy graduate Tyler Morton to Lyon, which will boost their hopes of signing Alexander Isak.

The Reds have spent more than £300million this summer, but Newcastle United recently turned down a bid of £120m.

They recently had a fresh injection of funds by selling Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich for £65.5m.



After a huge summer of spending, Liverpool will be keen to recoup some funds, especially since Newcastle have made it clear they will need to up their offer for Isak to tempt them into selling.

Their Premier League record-breaking bid of £120m on Friday night was rebuffed by the Magpies, who, according to Sky Sports, will only sanction a sale if they sign a replacement for the Swede.

They are looking to replace his goals by signing Benjamin Sesko.
