Liverpool have been issued a clear transfer message amid surprise links with Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez.
The Reds have been mentioned as a potential destination for the former Manchester City striker over the last couple of months.
The summer transfer window is officially open and Liverpool are now able to go into the market for new signings to strengthen Arne Slot's squad.
The Reds have already signed Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and there promises to be more new arrivals before the September 1 deadline.
It's not just Liverpool who have been mentioned as showing an interest in signing Alvarez based on some of the latest reports.
Arsenal have also been rumoured to be in the market for the Argentina international, who only signed for Atletico last summer from Man City.

Amid the continued speculation surrounding Alvarez's future, Atletico club president Enrique Cerezo has delivered a clear message to Liverpool.
"Julian Alvarez is an Atletico de Madrid player and will be an Atletico de Madrid player," Cerezo told reporters on Tuesday, via Spanish news outlet Marca.

Alvarez signed for Atletico last summer in a deal reported to be worth around £82million.
The striker has since gone on to score 29 goals in his debut season in Spain, with 17 coming in La Liga and seven in the Champions League.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with signing a new striker during the summer transfer window.
Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekitike, Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres, Newcastle United's Alexander Isak and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko are just some of the other centre forwards to be mentioned on the Reds rumour mill over the last few weeks.

Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota are the current striker options for Liverpool, although both face uncertain futures heading into next season.
It remains to be seen what the Reds will do with the centre-forward position this summer, and whether or not a new striker will be signed.
