Nottingham Forest star Callum Hudson-Odoi has lavished praise on new Liverpool duo Florian Wirtz and Jeremie Frimpong.

The German became the Reds' record signing after his £116million move from Bayer Leverkusen was confirmed.

The 22-year-old's successful time in the Bundesliga was brought to a conclusion after Arne Slot's side won the race for his signature - beating Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

Wirtz's move to the Premier League may be made easier by the arrival of Frimpong, who played together at Die Werkself, after the Dutchman became the Liverpool head coach's first signing of the summer after his release clause was triggered.

Hudson-Odoi could come up against two of his former teammates when Nuno Espirito Santo's side take on the Reds during the campaign, following a temporary spell in North Rhine-Westphalia while on loan from former club Chelsea.

Hudson-Odoi made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Bundesliga side in 2022-23 before signing for Forest a year later.

The Premier League champions have wasted no time in showing their intent to retain their crown and the arrival of Wirtz could become a British record transfer should the Germany international achieve his bonuses.

Meanwhile, Frimpong's arrival comes after Trent Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool following the expiration of his contract which ensured that Conor Bradley had fresh competition over the right-back berth.

Hudson-Odoi says he hopes that his former teammates adapt to the Premier League.

He said: "Amazing players, good people as well, very good people and have amazing talent.

"I hope the best for them in the Premier League.

As I say, they're amazing players, good people to be around, good energy and I wish them all the best in the Prem.

"I speak to them as much as possible, tell them how the Premier League is like, it's tough, it isn't easy.

But they'll adapt because they're good players so hopefully they do well.

"I spoke to Jeremie about it, speaking to him but it's different for every player, every player adapts differently so hopefully he adapts quickly, gets used to things and does well.

"He can play anywhere, good player, talented player, he's got the ability to create anything out of nothing.

"He can play anywhere, he'll be a big asset to Liverpool, great player and it's amazing that he's in the Premier League."
