Liverpool have reportedly turned down an improved bid for Luis Diaz with Bayern Munich stepping up their pursuit of the Reds winger.



Reports have suggested that Diaz has informed Liverpool chiefs that he wants to leave Anfield before the start of the new Premier League season.

He was linked with Barcelona earlier in the window but Bayern Munich now appear to have moved into pole position.

Earlier this week, Bayern reportedly submitted an opening offer worth around £45million but it was swiftly rejected by Liverpool.

Now, it has been claimed that Bayern have gone back in for Diaz with an improved bid.

They offered a new figure of £58.6m on Tuesday but Liverpool immediately turned down the proposal, according to The Athletic.

The Reds are said to value Diaz at closer to £86m, although senior figures are adamant that he will be going nowhere.

Barcelona are said to have received a similar message from the Reds, although they are yet to firm up their interest with any official bids.
