Liverpool’s transfer window activity could go down to the wire with two conditions affecting the sale of Harvey Elliott.

RB Leipzig are keen to sign Elliott, who has also had admirers from the Premier League following his success with England at the Under-21 Euro’s earlier this summer.

Liverpool are keen to further strengthen their attacking options with Alexander Isak from Newcastle a top target in the remaining three days of the transfer window.

Isak has refused to play for Newcastle this season and Liverpool have already had a bid rejected by the Toon for the striker.

Liverpool will be hoping Newcastle’s deal for Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade paves the way for Isak to leave the club.

This is key for Elliott, as Liverpool will only sanction a sale for the midfielder if two conditions are met.

As reported by Ben Jacobs on X [29 August], Elliott will be free to depart Anfield if Isak joins the club, or if RB Leipzig offer a fee that Liverpool believe they cannot turn down.

RB Leipzig are in the process of selling Xavi Simons to Spurs, and therefore could have the funds to tempt Liverpool into a sale even if they do not acquire Isak.

Despite getting the majority of his business done early, Slot could have a crucial decision to make in the final few days of the transfer window.

Elliott wants to kick start his career with regular playing time elsewhere, though the sale could leave Liverpool short in attacking options.
