Liverpool and any other clubs hoping that they can steal targets from Spanish clubs including Real Madrid have been sent a warning by Javier Tebas, the president of La Liga.

"[Real Madrid] have sold €200m worth of players," Tebas said.

As part of the celebration of his achievement, Liverpool's players had a photograph with him and a Liverpool shirt with the number 100 on the back, in recognition of the number of top-flight goals he has now put in (98 for the Reds).

Maybe not the first, we've definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all.

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi now in other top leagues around Europe, Spain's top-flight president is desperate for the next top players of their generation to move to Real Madrid or Barcelona.

Liverpool are leading the chase for Red Bull Salzburg forward Karim Adeyemi, according to Mundo Deportivo.
