Liverpool has become the latest major club linked with Real Madrid forward Rodrygo as uncertainty grows over his future at the Bernabeu.

Despite his talent, Rodrygo has struggled for consistent minutes under Xabi Alonso, featuring for just 95 minutes across the Club World Cup and seeing his role reduced overall.

That has drawn interest from several European sides, including Arsenal and Bayern Munich, with Liverpool now entering the frame.

While reports by AS suggest Madrid have not yet received any formal offers, the Reds are monitoring developments closely.

However, their pursuit is far from straightforward and comes with a crucial condition attached.

According to RMC Sport’s Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool will only proceed with a move for Rodrygo if Luis Diaz leaves the club this summer.

The Colombian winger, who played a key role in last season’s Premier League title win, is attracting strong interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

If a deal materialises for Diaz to depart, Liverpool are prepared to push for Rodrygo as his replacement, setting up direct competition with Arsenal for the Madrid attacker.

Rodrygo, meanwhile, is still open to staying in Spain provided he receives assurances of more playing time.

For now, the situation remains in limbo, with the forward waiting to see whether Madrid will grant him a bigger role or if Liverpool’s condition will be met before the window closes.
