Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike has attracted interest from both Premier League clubs Liverpool and Newcastle United this summer.
Ekitike wants to join Arne Slot’s side and has already agreed personal terms with the club.
The 23-year-old will put pen to paper on a six-year deal.
The former Paris Saint-Germain forward scored 22 goals in 48 games across all competitions last season for Frankfurt as he helped them qualify for the Champions League.
Ekitike reportedly trained with Frankfurt on Friday despite inching closer to a move to the Premier League champions.
According to BILD.de Frankfurt, Hugo Ekitike’s move to Liverpool is looking increasingly likely.
Negotiations between Liverpool and Eintracht are intense, with both clubs working within a framework that makes a deal very achievable.
The Reds are set to make an improved bid for Ekitike soon?
It is believed that the transfer will go through, though some details still need ironing out.
However, as it stands, Ekitike is expected to play in tomorrow’s friendly against city neighbours FSV Frankfurt and join Eintracht’s pre-season US tour.
