The Reds remain interested in Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon, but any move depends on one key condition: a current forward must leave.

Gordon was on Liverpool’s radar last summer.

But just when it looked like a deal might go through, Newcastle pulled the plug.

They found other ways to meet financial rules, selling Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh instead.

Despite the failed transfer, Liverpool never fully closed the book on Gordon.

And now, with the transfer window wide open, the door could reopen — if players like Luis Diaz, Diogo Jota, or Darwin Nunez pack their bags.

Manager Arne Slot is believed to be open to a shuffle in the attack.

While Florian Wirtz is expected to join soon in a record deal, Liverpool could still add another wide man — but only if someone from the current group makes way.

Gordon, a boyhood Liverpool fan and good friends with Reds midfielder Curtis Jones, has made no secret of his feelings.

Arsenal are also said to be interested, just to spice things up.

Still, don’t be surprised if this saga gets a second half — especially if one or two of Liverpool’s attackers are shown the exit door.
