With this in mind, Liverpool and Premier League rivals have scouted Argentinian prospect Alan Varela this season, with Boca Juniors having reportedly put a $24m (£20m/€23m) price tag on his head. The midfielder, who is 21 years old, has made 85 appearances for the Buenos Aires giants since making his debut back in 2020, and has earned rave reviews, having starred as part of a side that has won five domestic trophies in the past three campaigns.
