Liverpool have made some huge signings already this summer but their most important signing could still be yet to come.

The Reds have broken the British transfer record to sign Florian Wirtz for £116m, meaning the pressure to retain the title will be greater than ever.

They are still desperate for a few additions too that will make their chances even stronger, with a centre-back, winger and striker still on their list of options.

However, neglecting youth is something they cannot afford to do as not only do they have some big talents rising through the academy, but there are special players elsewhere who could help revolutionise Liverpool even further.

One of these players plays for close rivals Arsenal and he could very soon be on the market, and the Reds should do absolutely everything in their power to go out and get him.

Wonderkids do not come around often and after making his debut at 15 years and 181 days old – making him the youngest player in Premier League history – Ethan Nwaneri can certainly be classed in this category.

However, with such achievement and showing decent signs of progression, many would have thought Arsenal would be desperate to keep their star, but he is about to enter the final year of his contract.

On one of his recent YouTube videos, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that talks were ongoing, but there is hesitancy on the player’s side.

“Arsenal in active talks with the agents of Ethan Nwaneri.

Because obviously Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke… Arsenal are working on several profiles and on the player’s camp they want to understand what Arsenal’s plan is for [Nwaneri] before putting pen to paper.”

The Athletic also reported that talks have reached a “delicate stage”, with there being a real concern that he could leave on a free next summer.

Liverpool could very easily make a move and it is something they should seriously consider, especially as he has been labelled as “a special and phenomenal talent,” and he might just be the heir to Mohamed Salah’s throne.

Nwaneri wants to be guaranteed minutes at Arsenal, but with 23-year-old Bukayo Saka in front of him in the pecking order, he might have to wait a very long time if he is going to get that.

Having Salah ahead of you is not much better, but at 33 and with two years left on his contract, Nwaneri’s chance should come much sooner.

The 18-year-old could spend one year as Salah’s understudy, learning all the tricks to become a successful winger at Anfield and beyond, meaning that he will be ready by the time the Egyptian departs.

Salah’s contract is up in two years meaning that is when the Englishman could get a regular chance if he impresses Arne Slot, although it would genuinely come as no surprise if the ‘Egyptian King’ extended his stay even further, something that would hinder Nwaneri’s potential move.
