It’s been a tough year for Roberto Firmino.

The Brazilian endured a tricky 2021/22 season that was riddled with injuries, and his start to this campaign hasn’t got off to a particularly good start either, with the 30-year-old lacking the sharpness of old.

Signing Depay on a free transfer would be a different issue, but swapping him for Firmino in January is simply a no-go.

A report from Spain suggests that Liverpool and Barcelona are considering a swap deal involving Firmino and Memphis Depay, both of whom have deals which expire next summer.

Short of another 'Díaz effect', Klopp would simply be losing valuable experience for no real pay-off.

This suggestion is perhaps a little odd, and entirely out of left-field, considering Liverpool haven’t been linked with Depay for years.
