Napoli and AC Milan are reportedly ready to battle it out to sign Darwin Nunez from Liverpool this summer.
The Uruguay international joined the Reds in June 2022 but has failed to live up to the heights that were expected when a club-record deal that could rise to £85 million was agreed with Benfica.
The 25-year-old was reduced to a bit-part role this season under Arne Slot and made just eight starts in the Premier League as Liverpool clinched a record-equalling championship.
The Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport reports that the Serie A giants are set to go head-to-head to sign the Uruguay international this summer, with Liverpool set to demand a fee of roughly £51m.

It is claimed that Nunez has been identified as a "top-level" striker who can help both Napoli and AC Milan achieve their goals in Serie A next term.
As it stands, Napoli are leading the race for the striker, with Corriere dello Sport adding that the Serie A champions have been "negotiating" with Nunez for "some time".

Meanwhile, Liverpool are said to be the latest club to join the race for Southampton midfielder Tyler Dibling.
The 19-year-old was one of the few positives from the Saints' season as they were relegated to the Championship.
According to Caught Offside, Liverpool - showing 'concrete interest' have joined Manchester United, Chelsea and Newcastle United in the race for Dibling's signature.
But if the Reds are serious about bringing the 19-year-old to Anfield, then the report says he is expected to cost around £51m.
Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast earlier this year, former Saints boss Russell Martin hailed Dibling's talent and backed him to one day become a full England international.
"Tyler has every capability to go and play for England and at the very top level for a very long time because he's powerful, he's really quick, both feet can shoot.
He has something I've not seen in a British player in a long time," said Martin.
"To be able to take the ball in the middle of the park and swivel and go.
He'll play as a number eight or ten eventually.
But he's 18 years old.
"We played him out wide and he was incredible.
He needs the right style of play and right environment to really thrive.
"I don't think he'll be cheap for them but he'll be worth every penny.
When I went into the club, everyone told me: 'He's the one to look for.'

"So I hope he ends up, whether it's at Southampton with the right coach, or if he moves, that he ends up with the right person to really understand him and allow him to be how he is.
