Giorgi Mamardashvili has penned an emotional farewell message to Valencia supporters ahead of his imminent move to Liverpool.

The Reds completed the signing of the Georgian shot-stopper last year but the deal will be confirmed this summer.

Arne Slot's side are already making movement in the transfer window with Jeremie Frimpong on the verge of signing for the club from Bayer Leverkusen.

The club have expressed an interest in Germany star Florian Wirtz, but face competition from Bayern Munich and Manchester City, as well as registering interest in Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez.

Mamardashvil has continued his development in La Liga with Valencia prior to his Premier League switch.

The Spanish club found themselves in the thick of a relegation battle earlier in the season but a turnaround from new manager Carlos Corberan saw them fire their way to the European qualification conversation, missing out by six points.

After bidding farewell to the Mestalla, the 24-year-old posted an emotional goodbye to supporters.

"I don't know if I was the best, but I always gave my best," he began.

"Today is a very emotional and special day.

A journey that began 4 years ago is coming to an end.

"I arrived as just a kid with no Spanish, but with a big dream.

Since then, I've gone through tough days of growth and unforgettable moments.

"Now it's time to say goodbye.

"Thank you to everyone who stood by me during these 4 years.

"I believe I left a small story behind in Valencia.

"And I truly hope this club will always stay where it belongs — at the top."LOVE VALENCIA."

Marmadashvili's arrival poses uncertainty surrounding the goalkeeping department at Anfield with Alisson Becker, Caoimhin Kelleher and Vitezslav Jaros at the club.

Brazilian shot-stopper Alisson was the topic of interest from Saudi Arabia last summer but he reaffirmed his desire to stay with the Reds.

Meanwhile, Kelleher has been strongly linked with a move away with Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, Nuno Espirito Santo's side lodged a late bid for the Republic of Ireland international but saw their efforts rebuffed.
