Liverpool star Ben Doak has dropped a hint about his return from injury amid rumours he could leave Anfield this summer.

Doak spent last season on loan at Middlesbrough, where he impressed at the Championship side before he suffered a thigh injury in January which ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.

Before that injury setback, the teenager scored three goals, and also chipped in with seven assists during his spell at the Riverside.

It was in January - before the injury - that Liverpool rejected bids from Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town for Doak on permanent deals.

Five months on, the 19-year-old has begun stepping up his recovery from injury and has offered a hint that he will be ready to go for the start of pre-season training.

Doak posted two videos on his Instagram story, courtesy of Empire Performance Elite, which showed the Scotland international taking part in several training drills.

One video showed Doak running with the ball, and another was a shooting drill that saw the Liverpool star step up his return to full fitness.

Everton have also joined the race to sign Doak this summer, with the teenager facing an uncertain future at cross-city neighbours Liverpool.

Unless a transfer is agreed beforehand, Doak is set to return to the AXA Training Centre on Monday, July 7 for the first day of pre-season training.

It remains to be seen what the future will hold for Doak at Liverpool going into the 2025/2026 campaign.

What is almost certain, though, is the Reds are likely to make a significant profit if Doak does leave the club, having agreed a deal worth £600,000 with Celtic back in the summer of 2022.
