Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister took his recent clash with Arsenal's brand new signing Piero Hincapie from the field onto social media - even going as far to directly tag his opponent in the post.

It comes just weeks after the two clubs met in the Premier League.

Mac Allister featured for Argentina in their closing FIFA World Cup qualifier against Ecuador whilst Liverpool's season was put on hold over the international break.

The reigning world champions had already secured their qualification for the next major tournament long before the meeting, as had their opposition.

But spectators would not have been able to tell that fact based on just how full-blooded the clash in Guayaquil turned out to be.

Both nations had a player sent off as Enner Valencia's strike 13 minutes into first-half stoppage time ended up settling the match.

Mac Allister's moment came in stoppage time at the end of the game, when he witnessed Hincapie fly into a challenge on Real Madrid's recent teenage signing, Franco Mastantuono.

The Reds midfielder was incensed at seeing a teammate taken out in such a manner and wasn't afraid to let Hincapie know his feelings in the moment.

He missed the August 31 meeting between Liverpool and the Gunners at Anfield in the Premier League, though has been given a taster as to just how heated things can get between players from the two clubs.

Mac Allister then went onto Instagram to post a slow motion replay of their argument, writing in block capitals: "VOS NO SOS ASI," which translates into English as: "You are not like that."

He included the crossed swords emoji as well as the crying laughing emoji, which shows the 25-year-old has seen the funnier side of his reaction upon reflection.

The same could be said of Liverpool teammate Curtis Jones, who replied with the same laughing emoji in the comment section, as did former teammate Tyler Morton, who wrote: "Go on Macca [crying laughing emoji]."

Those who liked the post included Adrian, Hugo Ekitike, Jarell Quansah, Luis Diaz, Rhys Williams, Ryan Gravenberch, and Virgil van Dijk.

Mac Allister even attracted a reply from Hincapie himself, having tagged the defender in the post.
