Liverpool have been given a boost ahead of their Premier League opener against Bournemouth, with Joe Gomez back in training after an Achilles injury.
The defender has been out for more than two weeks, missing friendlies against AC Milan, Yokohama F.
His absence left Liverpool short of defensive cover during pre-season, but his return puts him in the mix for selection again.
Gomez joined his teammates at the AXA Training Centre on Wednesday for both gym and outdoor sessions.
His comeback comes at a time when Liverpool are actively trying to strengthen at the back, with Marc Guehi and Giovanni Leoni linked to moves.

Gomez was not the only familiar face returning.
Kostas Tsimikas trained despite rumors of a permanent transfer, while Stefan Bajcetic continued his recovery from hamstring surgery.
New signings Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, and Freddie Woodman were all spotted settling in (via Liverpoolfc.com).
In a lighthearted moment, Ekitike was filmed mimicking Frimpong’s trademark celebration after training — proof that the dressing room is already gelling.
Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Alisson, Federico Chiesa, Andy Robertson, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, Wataru Endo, Curtis Jones, Mohamed Salah, and Dominik Szoboszlai were also present, as Arne Slot prepared his squad for Friday night’s clash.
Liverpool’s season kicks off under the lights at Anfield, and with Gomez back, their defense might just have a little extra spring in its step.
