It looks like Federico Chiesa’s brief stay at Anfield is coming to an early end.

After just one season with Liverpool, the Italian winger has made it clear he wants to return home.

According to reports (via Matteo Moretto), Chiesa has told his agent he prefers a move back to Serie A.

In short, it’s hard to find space for Chiesa — even harder when you’ve missed pre-season.

Speaking last month (via Corriere dello Sport), Chiesa admitted, “At the beginning, I felt the frustration of the radical change and of being far behind the group, and then there was the injury.”

He added, “The year is over, but it’s an experience I would do again.

Soon, I will sit down at the table with the club, [agent] Fali [Ramadani] and my family to find the best solution.”

For Liverpool, the timing may be perfect.

They signed Chiesa on a low-risk deal and could now turn a small profit if a Serie A club comes knocking.

He’s clearly talented, but with the Euros and World Cup in sight, he needs regular football — something Slot simply can’t promise.

Selling him could benefit both parties: Liverpool gains funds, Chiesa gets a fresh start.
