While Liverpool lifted the Premier League trophy last season, Arne Slot featured Gomez in only nine league matches.

Despite limited minutes, he never complained about his role—neither during Jurgen Klopp’s time nor under Slot.

Earlier reports suggested that Gomez was thinking about leaving this summer, but he posted a photo on Instagram on Friday of himself lifting the Premier League trophy, along with the caption: “A decade in red… and still hungry to keep going.” This message could signal a shift in his mindset, indicating he now wants to stay at Anfield.

Gomez wrote: “10 years ago as a kid moving from south east London to Liverpool, I couldn’t even imagine looking this far into the future.

It’s been a blessing to be a part of the different dressing rooms and getting to create such special memories over the years with so many great players & staff.”

He closed with: “I felt it was important to share my thanks to you all for the support throughout the years.

A decade in red… and still hungry to keep going.”
